Save From Wherever You Read

Safari on your Mac, iPhone and iPad, with one keystroke or one tap — and Chrome, Helium and Brave on the Mac too.

💻 Clipfile for Mac

A menu bar app with no Dock icon and no window to manage. In Safari, press ⌥⌘S or click the Clipfile button in the toolbar, and the article is in your list a moment later, text and all. It is read out of the page you are already looking at, in your own logged-in session, so articles behind a subscription you pay for come through complete. Press ⌥L in any app to bring up your list. Both shortcuts can be changed.

Free for 14 days, then one in-app purchase of $6.99 keeps saving for good — no subscription, with Family Sharing. When the trial ends nothing is locked away: your list, search, notes and the reader keep working. Requires macOS 26 and Safari.

Clipfile on the App Store

🌐 Chrome, Helium and Brave

The App Store version saves from Safari only. A second version, downloaded from this site, also saves from Chrome, Helium and Brave — and the same App Store purchase unlocks it. How it works and how to get it.

📱 iPhone and iPad

Free. In Safari, open the page menu and choose Clipfile to save the article with its text, or tap Share in any app and pick Clipfile. Articles saved without their text — from the share sheet, say — are filled in in the background where the page allows it. Your list is the same on every device.

⚡ Raycast Extension

For keyboard-driven workflows on macOS, the Clipfile Raycast extension saves the frontmost browser tab and browses your saved links.

🚫 Dia, Arc and Firefox

These can't be captured. Dia and Arc don't offer the scripting Clipfile needs, and Firefox has no AppleScript support at all. The older browser extensions have been retired, so no route for these browsers is planned.
